Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a flexible and tax-efficient way to support the ministries you care about most. By contributing cash, stock, or other approved assets to your DAF, you receive an immediate tax deduction and can recommend grants to qualified nonprofits—like Heart of the Cumberland—over time.
Benefits for Donors:
You contribute assets (cash, stock, or other approved property) and get an immediate tax deduction.
Then, you “recommend” grants from that fund to support our ministry now or over time, according to your giving plan. You have the flexibility to choose when it give, including in years when giving is more strategic for you.
You have the ability to contribute appreciated assets (securities, etc.), which can reduce capital gains taxes and increase charitable impact.
Many DAF sponsors offer simplified administration, anonymity, and estate-planning capabilities — useful for individuals, families, or advisors.
How it works:
Establish a DAF with the provider of your choice.
Recommend a grant to Heart of the Cumberland through your DAF.
Your provider sends the grant, and we will gratefully acknowledge your gift.
Common Providers Donors Often Give Through:
Morgan Stanley Global Impact Funding Trust (MS Gift)
National Christian Foundation (NCF)
Fidelity Charitable
DAF Giving 360 (formerly Schwab Charitable)
(We welcome grants from any donor-advised fund.)
