Legacy & Planned Giving

Become a Golden Heart Donor with Heart of the Cumberland

Heart of the Cumberland is honored to be included in your legacy and planned giving and looks forward to welcoming you as one of our Golden Heart Donors—a special circle of supporters whose gifts ensure our work endures. Each Golden Heart gift creates a lasting legacy of hope, helping ensure that no one has to walk through grief alone.

As a Golden Heart Donor, your generosity will be recognized on our Golden Heart Tree, a symbolic display in our office celebrating those who have made a lasting impact. Each golden heart placed on the tree represents a donor like you whose compassion and faith help sustain our ministry for generations to come.

You can make a meaningful impact through a variety of giving options:

Leaving a Legacy of Hope

Legacy giving is a meaningful way to extend your compassion beyond your lifetime by including Heart of the Cumberland in your estate plans. Through options such as a bequest in your will, beneficiary designations from a retirement plan or life insurance policy, or other planned gifts, you help ensure that grief support and healing ministries continue to bring hope, comfort, and care to future generations. Legacy gifts are often simple to arrange and can reflect your faith, values, and desire to support others through life’s most difficult seasons.

Planned Giving with Purpose

Giving Through Retirement Account Distributions

For individuals age 70 1/2 and older, distributions from retirement accounts can be a thoughtful way to support Heart of the Cumberland while meeting required minimum distribution guidelines. These gifts may be made directly from a retirement account and can provide meaningful support for our grief ministry while potentially offering tax advantages. Giving in this way allows your resources to continue serving others with compassion and purpose.

Giving Through Donor-Advised Funds

Donor-advised funds provide a flexible way to support Heart of the Cumberland using a variety of assets. Gifts can include cash, stocks, bonds, or other investments, allowing you to align your giving with your values while potentially maximizing tax advantages. Many major brokerage firms and financial institutions offer donor-advised funds, and your financial advisor can help you determine the best way to contribute.
